Cahill Will 'Move Quickly' to 'Unlock Waterfront,' Move Middle School Project Forward
Beverly's newly inaugurated mayor, Mike Cahill, on Monday laid out some of the "early actions" he plans to take as mayor.
Mayor Mike Cahill on Monday laid out seven "early actions" he will take as Beverly's new mayor, vowing he will "move quickly in the coming months" along with the City Council and School Committee.
Cahill was sworn in to office Monday afternoon in an inauguration ceremony in the auditorium at Beverly High School, moving in to the corner office on the third floor of City Hall where the longest serving mayor in the city;'s history, Bill Scanlon, chose not to seek reelection.

The City Council, including new councilor Estelle Rand, Matt St. Hilliaire, David Lang and John Frates, were also sworn in during Monday's fetsivities.
