Sandler Needs 'Extras With Cars' For Film Set In Salem
The 150 extras will be paid for a scene at a drive-in movie theater in Mendon, Massachusetts.

SALEM, MA — "Hubie Halloween," the Adam Sandler film being shot on the North Shore this summer, continues to give local residents their chance at a star turn. Producers for the film posted a casting call Wednesday for 150 "extras with cars" for a scene at drive-in movie theater that will be shot in Mendon Wednesday, Thursday and possibly Friday.
Extras chosen for the role need to be available for all three nights and will be paid $25 for their car and $105 for eight hours of work, plus overtime. For more information, see the casting call notice.
While Mendon is about an hour's drive from Salem, where the film is set and several scenes have already been shot, it's the site of one of just three remaining drive-in theaters in Massachusetts.

In June, producers held an open casting call that drew hundreds of people to Marblehead. Shooting began earlier this month in Marblehead and other scenes will be shot in Danvers. Sandler was spotted in several North Shore businesses in recent weeks, including grabbing lunch with his mother at Organic Garden Cafe in Beverly.
Sandler has filmed several movies in the region, most notably "Grown Ups" and its sequel, both of which made use of several well-known North Shore locations. Last month, his production company had an open casting call for "Hubie Halloween."

The synopsis of the film on the application to Danvers officials reads: "Despite his devotion to his hometown of Salem, Massachusetts (and its legendary Halloween celebration), Hubie Dubois is a figure of mockery for kids and adults alike. But this year, something really is going bump in the night, and it's up to Hubie to save Halloween."
