1 Dead, 3 Hurt In Dorchester Shooting; No Arrests
Boston police said four people in a car were shot by an individual who walked up to the vehicle.

BOSTON — Police are asking for the public's help in finding who is responsible for the quadruple shooting that left one man dead and three others injured in a car in Dorchester Wednesday night. Police said there have been no arrests yet and have not yet released the victim's name.
Someone called 911 to report shots fired near 32 Windermere Road around 6:30 p.m. When police got there they found four men with gunshot wounds. One of the men was pronounced dead three others were taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Boston Police Commissioner William Gross told reporters Wednesday night that the initial investigation pointed to a shooter on foot and that the car was stopped when the four victims were shot.

“We don’t believe that this was a random act of violence,” Gross told reporters Wednesday night, Channel 25 reported.
The death marks the city’s 12th homicide so far this year, according to Boston Police. Last year at this same time there were 16.

The shooting comes just ahead of the 23rd annual Mother's Day Walk For Peace.
Attorney General Maura Healey and Mayor Marty Walsh spoke at the Louis D Brown Peace institute news conference Thursday morning. The institute was named for a 15-year-old who was shot and killed a quarter century ago in Boston. His mother started the institution to stand up against gun violence.
