BOSTON — Retired Boston Police officer Pat Rose hid his face in his hands as he was ordered held on $100,000 bail Thursday in a child rape case.
Rose, the former president of the Boston Police union, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment in West Roxbury District Court on several charges that include rape and abuse of a child and five counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14.
Prosecutors had asked for $250,000 cash bail saying he was a flight risk. State Police arrested Rose Wednesday after looking for him for a week.
