Red Sox manager Alex Cora reportedly was a major player in the latest cheating scandal to rock Major League Baseball. Cora had a "key role in devising the sign-stealing system" the Houston Astros used in 2017 when they won the World Series, The Athletic reported.

The sign-stealing scandal came to light this week when The Athletic heard from four Astros sources, including a pitcher, who said the team used an outfield camera during home games to steal signs.

Cora was the team's bench coach in 2017, when Houston won its first World Series. He took a job as manager of the Red Sox the following offseason, winning another title in 2018.
