Body Found in Charles River Still Unidentified; Police Seek Public's Help

Boston, MA - State police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man found dead in the Charles River last month.
According to a press release, investigators have "exhausted the traditional methods of identifying the individual."
The body was spotted floated along the Esplanade near the Longfellow Bridge on March 10. The unidentified man is described as pale-skinned, white, approximately 60 years old, about 5’8” tall, and about 200 lbs. He is bald except for white hair on the back and sides of his head, with white facial hair, according to the release.

He had a backpack on, but no identifying papers or possessions that police could use to figure out his name. He was wearing a dark-colored Carhartt stocking cap, light-colored pants, a blue sweater, and a gray hooded Abercrombie & Fitch sweatshirt with faded yellow lettering (pictured above).
A passerby spotted the man floating face down in the Charles River against the Arthur Fielder Dock near the Hatch Memorial Shell just after 12:30 pm on March 10. An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner did not reveal signs of violent trauma to the man’s body.
