Donut Day Boston 2019: Where To Get Your Donuts
Friday, June 7, is National Doughnut Day or Donut Day, depending on how you prefer to spell it. Here's where to go find some deals.

BOSTON — Did someone say "Free Donut" ? Why yes, yes they did. Friday is National Doughnut Day. And in honor of it, a number of companies are celebrating with free doughy goodness - or at least some specials - if you needed an excuse to eat one.
"For some people, every day is national donut day," Mass Hole Donuts posted to their Instagram Account last year about this time.
Some education: The Chicago Salvation Army established the "holiday" in 1938 to honor women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I. The holiday is celebrated on the first Friday of June, according to Dunkin' Donuts.

Speaking of Dunks, they're into this holiday, as you can imagine, and along with Cumberland Farms and Walmart and Kane's and a couple of others in the state are giving away the treats. On top of that, there are a number of places who are getting into the spirit with specials.
Dunkin' Donuts is offering a free classic doughnut with the purchase of any beverage until the doughnuts run out. The offer is good all day on June 7 in store and through On-the-Go Mobile Ordering at participating Dunkin' Donuts restaurants nationwide.

The fun doesn't stop there, folks. There's also a National Donut Day Snapchat Geofilter, available all day in or around all Dunkin' Donuts. What more could a doughnut lover want?
Expect Union Square Donuts to have a new special. Last year it was called the Donutella, glazed with Frangelico-spiked, creamy milk chocolate and toasted hazelnuts, plus other treats. This year they plan to have tons of donuts, including a new flavor called Jumbleberry.
"Our Jumbleberry jam glaze combines raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and cranberries and absolutely make this donut burst with flavor," owner Josh Danoff told Patch.

Walmart announced it plans to give away 1.2 million doughnuts. Customers who stop by the bakery section at their neighborhood Walmart can get a free glazed one. And about 4,000 Walmart stores are taking part in the giveaway. To find a Walmart near you, click here.
Fairmont Copley Plaza's OAK Long Bar + Kitchen will give away complimentary mini PRIDE donuts to its patio customers from 4 p.m.to 8 p.m. on Friday, with the purchase of any drink or food, while supplies last. The three-inch minis baked by OAK’s Pastry Chef Lindsay Le Blanc will be a Funfetti Brioche Donut with Rainbow Glaze, according to the folks at the Copley Plaza.
