What Do Bostonians Want to See by 2030?

Affordable housing, transportation, and education are top-of-mind in Boston.

BOSTON, MA - The city asked, and Bostonians answered. By 2030 they want housing that doesn't break the bank, public transportation that doesn't break and accessible, quality education.

Those themes emerged from citizen responses as officials seeks input on Boston's first long-term city plan in 50 years. Dubbed "Imagine Boston 2030," early input has honed planners' focus to four main goals:

  1. Provide quality of life in accessible neighborhoods
  2. Drive inclusive economic growth
  3. Promote a healthy environment and adapt to climate change
  4. Invest in infrastructure, open space and culture

You can find details, such as they are so far, here.

The city's next step is to begin drafting strategies to enact each of the goals. That portion of the plan will be developed from May through June, according to the Imagine Boston website.
