Lori Loughlin, Other Parents Face New Charges In College Case

The "Full House" star and her fashion designer husband are among 11 parents facing new charges in the college admission scandal case.

"Full House" actress Lori Loughlin is among 11 parents slapped with new charges in the college admissions scandal.

The parents were indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit federal program bribery. It accuses them of paying bribes to an organization that gets at least $10,000 in federal funding — in this case, the University of Southern California.

"Today's charges are the result of ongoing investigation in the nationwide college admissions case," Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling said in a statement. "Our goal from the beginning has been to hold the defendants fully accountable for corrupting the college admissions process through cheating, bribery and fraud. The superseding indictments will further that effort."

Loughlin and her fashion designer husband, Mossimo Giannulli, have pleaded not guilty to charges of money laundering and fraud. They allegedly paid $500,000 to get their two daughters into USC via the crew team; neither girl has been involved with crew.

Many of the dozens of people charged in the wide-ranging scheme have pleaded guilty. "Desperate Housewives" star Felicity Huffman was among them, and she is currently serving a two-week prison stretch.

The sentences for many others involved have been significantly longer.
