30,000+ MA Power Outages; Wind Gusts Will Continue This Afternoon
Heavy wind gusts are expected to blow across Massachusetts through Friday afternoon. Patch has the latest on the power outages.

MASSACHUSETTS — More than 30,000 utility customers were left without power Friday morning as powerful winds cut through the region. The gusts are expected to get hit as high as 55 miles per hour this afternoon.
There were 31,778 outages scattered across Massachusetts as of 7:17 a.m. The worst of the outages was south of Boston; more than 3,700 outages in Pembroke and 1,600 in West Bridgewater have nearly half the towns without power. Other towns in Plymouth and Bristol counties have hundreds in the dark.
The wind also wiped out power for hundreds in Worcester County and Western Mass. Mount Washington, the small town wedged in the southwest corner of the state, is completely without power thanks to 181 outages.

No injuries from wind damage were reported. Police departments from across the state reported tree and power line damage.
Shuttle buses are replacing the D Branch on the Green Line between Newton Highlands and Kenmore due to a tree damaging overhead wires.

The storm didn't bring the rain that had been forecasted during Halloween, but it got wet overnight. Forecasters did nail the strong wind gusts.
There is a wind advisory in effect for all of Massachusetts through 4 p.m. West winds will blow between 40-555 miles per hour, the National Weather Service said, meaning more power outages could spring up throughout Friday morning and afternoon.
