Mitt Romney Makes Robocalls for Foundering Rubio Campaign
The former presidential candidate and Massachusetts governor is lending weight to his 'anybody-but-Trump' campaign.

Boston, MA - Former Massachusetts governor and presidential candidate Mitt Romney extended his anybody-but-Trump campaign Tuesday, reportedly recording robocalls backed by Marco Rubio's campaign that will play in the primary states voting tonight.
In the face of Donald Trump's dominant delegate count, Romney has chosen not to endorse any one challenger. Instead, he advocated last week for Republicans to vote for Rubio in the senator's home state of Florida and for Ohio Gov. John Kasich and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz on their respective home turfs.
But where Cruz won Texas and Kasich looks strong in Ohio, Rubio has been falling in Florida polls, as well as several Tuesday nomination contests.
In the pre-recorded call paid for by Rubio's campaign, Romney alludes to Rubio, but does not explicitly endorse the senator, the New York Times reported Monday. Instead, he pits the party faithful against likely Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and, of course, Trump.
You can hear audio from Romney's call on the Times' site here.
