Boston public officials host a series of public meetings starting Monday to solicit opinions on Boston Police Department body cameras.

Boston, MA - Public officials are seeking community input on a proposed pilot program for Boston Police Department body cameras, starting Monday.

Mayor Marty Walsh has earmarked $500,000 in his proposed city budget to outfit 100 officers with the body-worn cameras and test out the program.

Residents in Roslindale, Charleston and Dorchester will get the chance to weigh in, City Council member Andrea Campbell said. According to the District 4 representative, Boston City Council's Committee on Public Safety and Criminal Justice will host the meetings, and a member of the BPD will be available for additional information.
