High Winds Cause Power Outages, Transit Delays in Boston
Power outages cropped up around Boston as high winds battered the city Thursday.

Boston, MA - Power has been restored to most of Boston, after strong winds ripped through the city on an otherwise pleasantly sunny spring Thursday.
The wind also downed a tree on the tracks between the JFK/UMASS stop and Greenbush Train station, causing what the MBTA expected to be a half-hour delay.

During the course of the day, hundreds of customers reported outages to provider Eversource.
As of 5 p.m., the utility's online outage map showed less than 30 customers in Boston without power. The number of outages dropped all afternoon, but not before Eversource's Twitter account got hit with irritated tweets from residents in Jamaica Plain and Dorchester.
