Scott Brown - Possible Pick for Donald Trump VP?

Yes, apparently this is something we really are talking about now, months away from the Republican convention.

Boston, MA - Speculating about vice presidential picks months in advance of a clear nominee appears to be the next evolution of an already bizarre election season, and the latest target is another Massachusetts politico.

WCVB reports Scott Brown met with Donald Trump Tuesday, the eve of his crushing Northeastern primary sweep.

The meet-up has prompted a smattering of speculation around the former Massachusetts senator's VP possibilities.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, trailing Trump by 400 delegates, on Wednesday named one-time rival Carly Fiorina as his vice presidential pick. Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton has reportedly picked out a slate of potential second-in-command candidates, including Mass. Sen. Elizabeth Warren.

Apparently, this is something we now talk about at this point in the race. So, let's talk about Brown.

He has the political pedigree, serving in the Army National Guard, state and local legislature, and on the U.S. Senate, where he pulled out a surprise victory as a Republican in left-leaning Massachusetts. Warren later defeated him in 2012.

It's even possible that between Trump's wide swath of unaffiliated voter support and Brown's track record, the GOP frontrunner is eyeing the possibility of flipping blue-as-they-come Massachusetts in the general election.

That fantasy aside, he credibly brings political chops without being easily pigeonholed as D.C. elite or part of the dreaded "establishment."

He also has one other credential Trump presumably seeks in a running mate -- on-camera charisma. Brown briefly contracted as an on-air contributor with FOX News, and reportedly enjoyed a moderately successful career as a male model during his college days.

Brown, for his part, gave WCVB a "no comment" when asked about the VP possibility.
