2 Men Charged In Connection With Fentanyl Trafficking In Brockton

A Brockton man and an Arlington man were charged in connection to trafficking fentanyl.

BROCKTON, MA — A Brockton man and an Arlington man were charged in connection to trafficking fentanyl, after police stopped them Friday evening because the car had tinted windows, according to State Police.

Troopers stopped a 2011 Nissan Altima on West Chestnut Street in Brockton around 6:30 p.m. for illegal window tint. The car then turned into the driveway of someone unrelated to them without signaling, police said.

Troopers said as they walked up to the car they saw the occupants "engaging in furtive movements," causing the troopers to be in fear for their safety.

After getting them out of the car, troopers found about 14 grams of substances believed to be fentanyl and about 2 grams of crack cocaine inside the car.

They also found more than $1,700.00 in cash on the driver, Ayoub Boubit, 23, of Arlington, and more than $6,900.00 on passenger, Antonio Martins, 24, of Brockton.

Both men were placed under arrest on the following charges:

  1. Trafficking in fentanyl
  2. Conspiracy to violate the drug laws

Boubit was aslo charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B Drug and trespassing with a car. He was also cited for illegal window tint and failure to signal.

Martins was also charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B Drug, subsequent offense.

Both men were held on $1,000.00 bail pending their arraignment in Brockton District Court.
