ABINGTON, MA — A dog is now home recovering with its owner after falling through an icy pond at an Abington park Monday.
Firefighters responded to Ames Nowell State Park after receiving a call just after 12 p.m. saying a dog needed to be rescued.
Firefighters say the dog had run out onto Cleveland Pond after separating from its owner and fell into the water after the ice cracked under pressure.
