• Man accused of stabbing Fitchburg resident indicted by Worcester grand jury (masslive.com) — A Brockton man has been indicted on murder and assault charges after a Fitchburg resident died from stab wounds in September, with authorities saying he was arrested the same day in Brockton. Multiple agencies, including Brockton Police and State Police units, assisted in the arrest. The case now moves to Worcester Superior Court, with arraignment expected in early January.
   

• Brockton Veterans Affairs employee pleads guilty to PPP loan fraud (enterprisenews.com) — A Brockton-based Veterans Affairs nursing assistant has admitted in federal court to fraudulently obtaining and then having forgiven a more than $20,000 pandemic-era PPP loan. Prosecutors say she used falsified income and tax documents, then later claimed the funds went entirely to payroll. She now faces potential prison time, supervised release, and substantial fines at sentencing.
