Brockton Police Department Is Victim Of Cyberattack: Mayor
Brockton Mayor Sullivan says the department is currently operating without the use of computers, but people can still call for emergencies.
BROCKTON, MA — A cyberattack hit the Brockton Police Department on Monday, says Brockton Mayor Robert F. Sullivan.
In response, Mayor Sullivan says the department has stopped the use of all computers, and police are working with paper and pen until further notice.
“This event has not halted our ability to respond to emergency calls, patrol the Brockton community, or perform our vital policing functions,” Sullivan’s statement read. “We have no reason to believe this was a targeted attack.”
