Local Woman Raises Alzheimer's Awareness

Yvette Hunte of Brockton will take part in the South Shore Walk to End Alzheimer's.

BROCKTON, MA (August 22, 2016) ­–Yvette Hunte of Brockton will participate in the South Shore Walk to End Alzheimer’s® on Saturday, September 17 in Plymouth.

Hunte joins the Walk to honor her husband who is currently living with Alzheimer's. Upon her husband's diagnosis in 2010, his primary care physician urged the couple to connect with the Alzheimer's Association.

"They were very helpful," said Hunte. "They sent me information to read, they call to check on me and see how I am doing. They are committed towards the research in finding a cure to end Alzheimer's disease."

This is Yvette's first time participating in the Alzheimer's Association's Walk to End Alzheimer’s— the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

“We are grateful to each person who makes a commitment to the Walk to End Alzheimer’s by participating, volunteering or making a donation,” said Jim Wessler, president/CEO of the Alzheimer’s Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter. “The funds raised will provide support services to people impacted by Alzheimer’s, while also contributing to the research that is critical to putting an end to this disease.”
