Shade of Yale University Vocal Group Returns to Fuller Craft Museum

From Fuller Craft: This past year Shades of Yale had an opportunity to stand in the bus where Rosa Parks stood, and there they created new music called “Freedom.” They will share that music and many more inspiring songs during a concert in the Fuller Craft Museum Great Room.

Come be inspired by the power of music. Bring the family. Shades celebrates music of the African Diaspora with choreographed, vocal arrangements. Their sound is Sweet Honey in the Rock meets Take 6 meets John Legend meets Angelique Kidjo meets Gershwin meets Big Mama Thornton. Fuller Craft Museum’s Communications Director Titilayo Ngwenya is a founding member of the organization.

One of Yale's premiere a capella groups, Shades has toured extensively domestically and internationally to Puerto Rico, South Africa, Jamaica, Ireland, Japan, and more. They performed for the late, former President Nelson Mandela, at the White House for former President Barack Obama, and now you!
