3:55 p.m. – Cheryl Molloy finished the course with a time of 4:57:03
3:39 p.m. – Cheryl Molloy crossed 40k with a time of 4:34:13
- Chuck Flaherty Final Time: 4:38:09
- Richard Snyder Final Time: 4:23:09
3:18 p.m. – Chuck Flaherty just hit the 40k with a time of 4:22:32. Richard Snyder hit the same point with a time of 4:09:15.

Marathoners are still running the race this afternoon, hours after the winners of this year's Boston Marathon crossed the finish line. The men's race was almost as photo-finish as the women's; Kenya's Geoffrey Mutai won in a world record time. He beat countryman Moses Mosop by just four seconds. U.S. runner Ryan Hall finished fourth, just five seconds off the podium spot.

A Kenyan also won the women's race: Caroline Kilel beat out American Desiree Davila at the finish of the women's race, winning by just over two seconds.
Top three finishers in the women's elite race:
- Caroline Kilel, Kenya, 2:22:36
- Desiree Davila, USA, 2:22:38
- Sharon Cherop, Kenya, 2:22:42
Both men and women wheelchair winners were from Japan: Wakako Tsuchida won the women's race in 1:34:06. Masazumi Soejima took the men's title with a time of 1:18:50.
The 2011 Boston Marathon got underway at 9:17 a.m. when the first wheelchair racers crossed the start line in Hopkinton. The elite men and women started at 9:32 and 10 a.m., followed by three waves of qualified and charity runners.
Brookline Runners:
- Richard Snyder, running with Project Hope, passed 35k with 3:36:24 on the clock.
- Library Director Chuck Flaherty hit 35k with a time of 3:46:44
- Detective Cheryl Molloy crossed the 35k mark with a time of 3:53:41
