Brookline Arts Center Opens Gallery At Sanctuary Medicinals
Gallery will showcase the work of local artists through four exhibits each year

BROOKLINE, MA — The Brookline Arts Center just opened a gallery — at the new marijuana shop in Coolidge Corner.
The Beacon Street Gallery at Sanctuary Medicinals is a collaboration between the cannabis retailer and local arts center, meant to highlight local artists and help the cannabis retailer get to know its neighbors.
Located at 1351 Beacon Street, the Beacon Street Gallery is set to house four free rotating art exhibits per year , beginning with the gallery’s inaugural exhibition, PRISM, that just opened.

The center, which manages the gallery, will develop thematic prompts and review submissions from artists living or working in Brookline to display. The 600 square foot gallery, situated in the front of the recently opened Sanctuary Medicinals cannabis store, has its own dedicated entrance separate from the salesfloor.
It was an opportunity to expand the reach of opportunity for artists in Brookline, according to Lauren Riviello of The Brookline Arts Center.

"This brand new, beautiful gallery space is conveniently located in the heart of Coolidge Corner, providing great exposure for a variety of creative works and an accessible environment for our community," she said.
The PRISM exhibit will be on display through Nov. 13.
The CEO of Sanctuary Medicinals said the collaboration came about as part of the retailer's effort to be part of the neighborhood.
"Through the Beacon Street Gallery we can use this location as a public benefit," Jason Sidman said.
Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. .
The Brookline-based artists whose works are on display include: Martin Anderson, Suzanne Archibald, Caroline Barnes, John Bassett, Meryl Blinder, Diane Chester-Demicco, Erin Connolly, Molly Dee, Ruth Ginsberg-Place, Meagan Hepp, Nini Evans, Caryl Hull Leavitt, Aja Johnson, Leonie Little-Lex, CJ Lori, Liliana Marquez, Maryellen Moran, Robin Okun, Joseph Perkell, Cary Rapaport, Pamela Roberts, Zoe Scheia and Brianna Whitney.
