Voters approved entry into the CPA program in a ballot referendum in 2021. This allows the town to assess a 1 percent surcharge to tax bills, which is held in a local Community Preservation Fund.

Town officials are encouraging community members to provide their thoughts on Brookline’s needs, opportunities, and resources in areas in which CPA funding may be used, including open space, historic preservation, outdoor recreation, and community housing.
