BROOKLINE, MA — Two men accused of pointing a shotgun and trying to force their way into a Walnut Street apartment residence late Sunday night are now facing charges, according to police. The resident who had the gun pointed at him is also facing charges after police found an illegal marijuana grow operation in the home, they said.

Police said just before 11:30 p.m. April 7, a Walnut Street resident called to report a home invasion. He told police he was at home with a friend when someone started pounding at the back door. When the two went to see who it was, two men, described as white and wearing masks, pointed a shotgun at them and forced their way into the home. Police said the four of them fought and the two inside the home were able to push the intruders back into the hallway, before they ran off.

"It appears this was an isolated incident," police said in a statement. "Both subjects have been located and are facing charges. While on scene officers discovered an illegal grow operation of marijuana plants in the apartment. The residents/victims are also facing charges."
