Brookline Police Has A Date For Accreditation
The department has an appointment with the state's Accreditation Commission next month.

BROOKLINE, MA — Police Chief Jennifer Paster announced that the department has an upcoming evaluation scheduled with the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission on Wednesday, May 21.
Becoming state-accredited is a voluntary designation that police departments can choose to achieve. Brookline has been in “self-assessment” as it has been working internally to meet the nearly 400 standards set by the MPAC. Police agencies that participate in the voluntary program are typically assessed every three years.
“To achieve accreditation, our department must fully comply with all applicable mandatory standards and meet at least 78% of the optional standards,” Paster explained. “Maintaining MPAC accreditation is a mark of professional excellence and reflects the dedication of the Brookline Police Department to uphold best practices in law enforcement.”
