Brookline Ranked Among Best Places To Live In America

BROOKLINE, MA — The town was recognized as the 14th best community to live in America for 2025 in a new ranking from Niche.

In its 11th year, the ranking from the data-driven platform Niche helps everyone from young people just starting their careers or families to retirees decide where they want to live. The report analyzes places of various sizes, including cities with populations of 100,000 or more, suburbs and neighborhoods.

Brookline received an overall Niche grade of A+, with the same grade in the subcategories of “public schools, nightlife, and good for families.” With the 14th spot, Brookline is the highest ranked of the four Massachusetts municipalities. CambridgePort, Riverside, and Cambridge were ranked 22nd, 56th, and 77th respectively.

Brookline avoided annexation by the city of Boston back in 1873. Now, it's the home of the famed Coolidge Corner Theatre. The town is lauded by Niche for its quantity nd quality of bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and parks.
