Chicago Man Arrested On Charges Of Sexually Exploiting Brookline Teenager

BROOKLINE, MA — A Chicago man has been arrested on charges related to sexually exploiting a 14-year-old girl from Brookline, according to the United States District Attorney’s Office.

Joshua Rogers, 30, has officially been charged with one count of sexual exploitation of children. Rogers has been accused of pretending to be a 17-year-old boy named John on the social media application Snapchat to engage in sexually-explicit conversations with the girl. Rogers reportedly manipulated the minor to engage in sexually explicit acts that he asked to be documented with photos and videos. The communications also reportedly include statements from Rogers about wanting the girl to run away from home and the possibility of him kidnapping her.

The charge of sexual exploitation of minors provides for a sentence of at least 15 and up to 30 years in prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. Rogers is slated to appear in Boston Federal Court soon, however an official date has not yet been set.
