According to Collegewise, a lot of great kids write average (even bad) college essays—essays about “life lessons learned from football” or “how my trip to Europe broadened my cultural horizons."
The Brookline Public Library is hosting a workshop to show students what admissions officers look for in college essays, and offer suggestions for finding and sharing their best stories. They will share the five most over-used topics you have to avoid and give tips on how to write a complete college essays this summer.
