Five Things for July 24: “Pinocchio”

1. Weather: The National Weather Service predicts a cloudy day with a high of 84. The evening will cool down to 62.

2. Puppet Showplace Theatre presents “Pinocchio” by National Marionette Theatre: Carlo Collodi's epic about a puppet who wants to become a real boy is a classic example of storytelling at its best. Our adaptation is a faithful re-telling of this childhood favorite.

3. Isis Lune Live at Harvard Longwood Campus!: Isis Lune is a Boston-based group formed at Berklee College of Music. Led by Israeli vocalist Ella Joy Meir, the band creates a unique soundscape that combines electronic textures with a raw human element. Titles such as "In the Belly of a Whale" and "Bring Me the Moon" submerge the listener in their world, a realm of demons and magic, of vast oceans and endless skylines.

4. Sewing & Fashion Class – KidsStreet – Open House - Free: KidsStreet Sewing and Fashion Classes – Free Open Houses – Try us, your child will have a great time taking these classes this fall for Children ages 5 and up!

5. Adelle Waldman - The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P.: Nathaniel Piven is nearly unsinkable.  A young, self-obsessed rising star in the literary world, he gathers accolades and relationships but can't quite manage to make it fit, as his commitmentphobia and self-doubt get in the way as he attempts to be a connoisseur, not a novice, at life and love.
