Lunar New Year Celebration Planned In Brookline

The celebration will kick off at 2 p.m. at the Public Library of Brookline's Coolidge Corner Library on Sunday, Jan. 22.

BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline will celebrate Lunar New Year this weekend at the Public Library of Brookline's Coolidge Corner location, officials recently announced.

The celebration will take place on Sunday, Jan. 22 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the library at 31 Pleasant St. in Brookline.

The event will include traditional Chinese dance performances from the Westwood Chinese School and Wang YMAC as well as a live lion dance performance from the Grant Kwok Asian Women’s Lion and Dragon Dance Troupe, among other attractions.

The traditional Chinese dance performance will start promptly at 2 p.m.

The celebration is sponsored by the Brookline Library Foundation, the Friends of the Brookline Public Library and the Brookline Asian American Family Network.
