New Public Art Installations Coming To Brookline

The "Brookline Art Makes Community" initiative​ is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act.

BROOKLINE, MA — The Town of Brookline is inviting residents to join a new initiative to help bring more public art to commercial areas.

The "Brookline Art Makes Community" (BAMC) initiative, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act, will kick off with an engagement event on Thursday, Nov. 3 from 5-7:45 p.m. at Beacon Street Art Gallery, located at 1351 Beacon St.

At the event, attendees will learn about this new public art initiative. They also will have the opportunity to contribute input on preferred types of public art such as murals, sculptures, and lighting installations, as well as preferred locations for these installations.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for residents to gather and share their ideas about public art," Town Administrator Chas Carey said in a statement. "Engagement from residents and community members will help ensure that new public art captures the values and visions of our community and all that makes Brookline so unique. We encourage all residents to attend, especially those who have a passion for art."
