Scammers Target Brookline Residents With Phone Scam: PD
Brookline police said scammers have called residents claiming to be police officers and asking residents to call them back.
BROOKLINE, MA — Brookline police warned residents this week to be on the lookout for a scam where individuals have called residents while claiming to be Brookline police officers.
Police on Monday said scammers have left messages with residents saying they have personal information and asking residents to call them back.
Police said anyone who receives a call that they suspect is a scam should hang up. Anyone who receives a suspected scam voicemail should not call the number back. Individuals should instead report any attempted scam calls or voicemails to the police through the Brookline police business line at 617-730-2222, police said.
