Cambridge 2016 MCAS Scores: Showing Massachusetts How It's Done
Cambridge students' standardized test scores generally tracked higher than the state average in 2016.

BOSTON, MA — Cambridge Public Schools' MCAS scores are looking pretty shiny Monday, as the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education released 2016 results for the district and the state.
Tenth graders taking the MCAS received the following scores:
English/Language Arts: 89% of Cambridge students scored proficient or above on the English MCAS in 2016; that's compared to 91% of students statewide. In 2015, 88% of Cambridge sophomores scored proficient or above.

Mathematics: In 2016, 78% of Cambridge students reached proficient or above in math, tied with 78% statewide average. In 2015, that number was 84% for Cambridge.
Science: 74% of Cambridge students scored proficient or above on the science section of the MCAS, up from 72% of that same grade in 2015. Statewide in 2016, 73% of students achieved proficient scores or higher.
