Man Accused of Shooting 'Up Skirting' Video on MBTA

He was arrested at Porter Square, and later found to have an arrest warrant on counts of rape, indecent assault & battery.

CAMBRIDGE, MA — A man accused of secretly taking upskirt videos of female passengers on the T was arrested at Porter Square station Tuesday.

Mass. Bay Transit Authority Police said in a press release they received a call from the Cambridge station about a man reprotedly secretly taking videos of women on the train.

A female victim identified the suspect, telling Transit Police she was approached by a fellow passenger who warned her, "He's video taping up your skirt." Transit Police say the victim confronted the suspect, who she said admitted to shooting the video and agreed to delete it.

She then spoke to Transit Police and pointed out the suspect, later identified as 51-year-old James Cullers, of Boston.

Transit Police say an officer went up to Culler, who was holding his mobile phone in his hand.

"Upon approach of the officer," Transit Police report, "Culler began to manipulate the phone and apologize. Subsequent to an investigation Cullers was placed into custody for Making a Secret Video (Known as the Up Skirting Law) and transported to TPD HQ for the arrest booking process."

While they were booking Culler, Transit Police said, they found a warrant for his arrested out of Wareham District Court for Rape and two counts of Indecent Assault & Battery on a person Over 14.

He is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Cambridge District Court.
