• Seabrook warehouse linked to $13M Apple iPhone gift card fraud ring (seacoastonline.com) — A Canton resident has been indicted in New Hampshire in connection with an alleged international gift card fraud ring that investigators say moved about $13 million in Apple products through Seabrook warehouses. Authorities allege the operation used stolen or hacked gift cards to buy thousands of devices for resale overseas, and the Canton man has been held without bail while facing serious felony charges.
• Oversight board decertifies former Stoughton deputy chief tied to Sandra Birchmore case (boston.com) — A state police oversight board has permanently decertified former Stoughton deputy police chief Robert Devine after finding serious misconduct connected in part to the death of Sandra Birchmore, who was found in her Canton apartment in 2021. The ruling describes years of abuse of power, including Devine’s interactions with Birchmore, and bars him from serving as a police officer anywhere in Massachusetts.
