No one was injured when the Metropolis Skating Rink's roof collapsed at about 7:15 a.m. Saturday. Canton Police and Fire responded to the Washington Street rink, evacuated the building and searched to make sure everyone got out OK, said Canton Police. There was a youth hockey team practicing at the time of the collapse. State inspectors and the Canton building commissioner are on scene and evaluating the situation.

No one was injured when the Metropolis Skating Rink’s roof collapsed at about 7:15 a.m. Saturday.

Canton Police and Fire responded to the Washington Street rink, evacuated the building and searched to make sure everyone got out OK, said Canton Police. There was a youth hockey team practicing at the time of the collapse.

State inspectors and the Canton building commissioner are on scene and evaluating the situation.
