7-Eleven to Provide Delivery Service in Boston

Bostonians will soon be able to have convenient store items delivered right to their doorstep thanks to 7-Eleven and tech startup DoorDash.

Bostonians will soon be able to order food and drink from 7-Eleven and the convenient store will deliver it directly to your door, according to an announcement made on Monday.

7-Eleven Inc. and tech startup DoorDash have partnered to provide a delivery service in major cities across the country including Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. 7-Eleven said in a press release that the service will be coming to Boston and Washington D.C. in the coming months.

“By working with DoorDash, we can bring on-demand delivery to more people and more places,” said Raja Doddala, 7‑Eleven’s vice president of innovation and omnichannel strategy

7-Eleven will be charging a $2.99 fee for their delivery service, at least when the service first launches.

“We’re proud to launch our first expansion beyond restaurants with 7‑Eleven,” said Tony Xu, CEO and co-founder of DoorDash.
