Brentwood Celebrates Completion of $2.6M Renovations
The rehabilitation and healthcare center was built in 1972.
Danvers, MA - Local and state dignitaries recently joined the staff, leadership and clients of The Brentwood Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in to celebrate the completion of a $2.6 million renovation of the Danvers skilled nursing property.
An open house and ribbon-cutting event highlighted improvements to the facility and its programs, implemented since The Brentwood’s purchase by Marquis Health Services in late 2013.
Located at 56 Liberty Street, the 159-bed, three-story property was built in 1972. Marquis Health Services renovated the building, incorporating a dedicated, 32-bed sub-acute care unit and a new, 2,300-square-foot therapy gym. The sub-acute unit features a neurologist-led stroke recovery program; it is the only facility in the North Shore region with this type of specialized program. The gym offers rehabilitation therapy seven days per week with state-of-the-art equipment – including a smart car to train patients in automobile transfers.

Additionally, Marquis Health Services redesigned patient rooms on The Brentwood’s rehabilitation floor, highlighted by the introduction of a transitional suite with a full residential set-up including kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. The apartment is dedicated for soon-to-be-discharged patients, who work with physical and occupational therapists during the last days of their stay to support a smooth transition to independent living in their own homes. Marquis also updated finishes in The Brentwood’s lobby, gathering spaces and throughout common areas, with other improvements continuing throughout the building. The organization will also introduce fine dining.
Beyond the physical and programming enhancements, new leadership is in place at The Brentwood. Marquis Health Services has appointed Josh Brown as administrator and Beth Fearon as director of nursing. Brown comes from within the Marquis organization; Fearon is a 20-year healthcare industry veteran.
