Danvers Bans Sprinkler Systems, Pool Filling As Dry Spell Goes On
Under level five water restrictions, residents can only use hoses and watering cans between the hours of 7 p.m. and 8 a.m.
DANVERS, MA — Danvers moved to level five water restriction as the region's dry spell continued.
The restrictions, which are the second most stringent, bans the use of sprinkler systems and filling of swimming pools. Residents are limited to using hoses and water cans between the hours of 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. If Danvers moves to level six restrictions, all outdoor water use will be banned.
"We promote conservation all year long," DPW Director David Lane said. "Now we are in need of residents to really take charge and drop their water use. If everyone makes an effort to save, then we will be okay."
