Danvers Board of Assessors Public Disclosure of Fiscal 2016 Proposed Property Values

Taxpayers are encourage to review their proposed assessments prior final certification.

In accordance with Mass. General Laws, the Fiscal 2016 assessed values on all properties in Danvers have been adjusted to full and fair market value as of January 1, 2015. These values are pending preliminary certification from the Department of Revenue.

The proposed values are available at the Assessing Department at Town Hall, at the Peabody Institute Library or on the Town’s website at www.danvers.govoffice.com under the “News” tab.

These values will become final upon certification from the DOR.

The public disclosure at Town Hall will run from Oct.15th -Oct. 21th during regular business hours: Mon.-Wed. 8:00-5:00, Thurs.8:00-7:30 and Fri. 8:00-1:30. You may also call the Assessors at 978- 777-0001 ext. 3055 or 3060.

Taxpayers are encourage to review their proposed assessments prior final certification. After public disclosure has been completed, the values will be submitted to the Department of Revenue for final certification. Once final certification is received from the DOR, the Board of Selectmen will hold the annual Tax Classification Hearing, which is scheduled for November 10, 2015 at 7:00 PM. The Board of Assessors will then set the tax rate(s). The tax rate is
determined based on many factors, including total taxable real estate and personal property values, appropriations from Town Meeting, State aid and Town revenues and expenditures.
