Danvers Mall Expansion Includes A Swim School
The Danvers planning board scheduled a public hearing for a 2,200-square-foot expansion of the Liberty Tree Mall.

DANVERS, MA — The Liberty Tree Mall is asking Danvers officials to approve a 2,200-square-foot expansion to allow for the addition of a Goldfish Swim School. The proposal was scheduled for a public hearing with the Danvers planning board on Tuesday.
The expansion would be built on the Independence Way side of the mall, between the existing Best Buy and Sports Authority stores, according to a site plan submitted to the Danvers planning department. Simon Property Group, the mall's owner, is asking the board to approve a special permit and a major modification for the property.
Goldfish Swim School was founded in 2006 by Jenny McCuiston, a Michigan woman who had seen increased demand for swim instruction after teaching lessons at a local country club. She formed the company with her husband, Chris. The company opened its first Massachusetts location in Needham in 2015. The Danvers location would be its 10th in Massachusetts.
