Danvers Man Flashes Bar, Trashes Cell: Police
Police say Brian A. Sweeney Jr., 37, caused significant damage to the Middleton police station when he broke a sprinkler in his cell.
DANVERS, MA — A Danvers man who police say flashed his genitals to a female customer and an employee at a Middleton bar is facing multiple charges. Brian A. Sweeney Jr., 37, of Danvers, was arrested at the bar at Middleton's DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Monday night. At the Middleton police station, Sweeney became "very confrontational" and slammed the door and sprinkler head in the cell he was being held in, leading to flooding in parts of the station.
According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, Sweeney's attorney told a judge his client was "shocked" and "dumbfounded" when he was arraigned on Tuesday. Sweeney had pleas of not guilty to charges of open and gross lewdness and wanton destruction of property valued at $1,200 or more entered on his behalf.
