Danvers Meat Business Names Greater Boston Food Bank Donor Of The Year
Demakes, a family-owned meat company, was honored for its consistent food donations to GBFB since 2017.

DANVERS, MA — Danvers-based meat company Demakes Enterprises Inc. was recently honored as the Greater Boston Food Bank's Food Donor of the Year as part of its annual Partner Appreciation Awards.
The Food Donor of the Year Award honors a donor that consistently donates nutrient-rich food, money or time.
Demakes, a family-owned meat company, has donated ham, turkey, roast beef, chicken, salami and mortadella to the Food Bank since 2107 and donated nearly 450,000 pounds of food last year alone.

Among Demakes' brands are Old Neighborhood Foods, Thin 'n Trim and Waterhill Naturals & Organics.
"The sheer volume of food that Demakes donates has provided countless nutritious meals that families in need may not have been able to afford otherwise," said Greater Boston Food Bank President and CEO Catherine D'Amato said. "Protein-rich foods are vital to our food system, providing the foundation for balanced meals and supporting us in our mission to end food insecurity.
