Danvers Sports Authority Likely to Close
Sporting goods retailer announced bankruptcy earlier this week, Liberty Tree Mall location on preliminary list to close.

Danvers, MA - Earlier this week, Colorado-based sporting goods retailer Sports Authority filed for bankruptcy and announced it will be closing 140 stores across the country.
Now it looks like the Danvers location at the Liberty Tree Mall will be one of three stores in Massachusetts to close, according to bankruptcy filings obtained by consumerist.com.
The other two Massachusetts stores that look likely to close, according to the report, are in Framingham and Holyoke.

Sports Authority could continue as a smaller operation or sell their stores to a competitor, according to consumerist.
One of the competitors brought up was Dick’s, which it stated could buy stores to eliminate competition.
