DANVERS, MA — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Melanie Little, a proud mother who nominated high school senior Reagan of Danvers.

How do you know the star local student?

He's my son

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Reagan values each person for their unique qualities and is kind and supportive to his classmates and teachers.

He is a member of the National Honor Society and completed the highest-level math class at DHS as a junior. He played football all 4 years and he was named an NEC all-star safety this year.

He was also captain of the wrestling and outdoor track teams his senior year. During the COVID shut down the sports seasons were moved around and wrestling was moved to the spring. Instead of sitting out that winter season, he joined the swim and dive team and earned a varsity letter for diving.

Over the past five years he has organized fundraisers for Together We Rise, which supports local children in foster care. He has raised $3,800 and organized friends to build skateboards and bikes that were donated to the Plummer Youth Promise foster care agency and group home in Salem.

Reagan has been class president for the past three years and he was just awarded the National Buckeye Scholarship and will be attending Ohio State University in the fall, majoring in computer Science Engineering and playing on the club football team.

He finds the best in every person and is the kindest person I know.
