• Haverhill man charged in deadly wrong-way crash on Route 128 in Danvers (nbcboston.com) — A deadly wrong-way crash on Route 128 in Danvers last Friday night left a New Hampshire man dead and a Haverhill driver facing serious charges. Prosecutors say the driver is accused of reckless operation and may face additional impaired-driving charges, and a judge has ordered strict bail conditions while the case proceeds. The highway was closed for hours but has since fully reopened.
   

• Leete to helm St. John's Prep (peabodyweeklynews.com) — A Danvers-based St. John’s Prep program is entering a new era as longtime educator and volleyball coach Pamela Benzan Leete takes over the Eagles’ varsity volleyball team. A Danvers resident and current English Department chair, she brings extensive high school and college coaching experience and a strong record of tournament appearances and league titles. School leaders say her focus on character and growth will guide the already successful program forward.
   

• Salem School Committee Merges Elementary Schools In Split Vote (patch.com) — Salem’s School Committee has narrowly approved merging the Saltonstall and Carlton elementary schools at Saltonstall starting in fall 2026 to help close a multimillion-dollar budget gap. The split vote followed debate over a more sweeping reconfiguration, while the Patch editor covering Salem also reports on nearby Danvers, keeping local families connected to regional school changes.
