French Police Dog Has New Ballistic Vest Thanks to Anonymous Danvers Donor

A French police dog, named Diesel, was killed five days after the November 13, 2015, terrorist attacks in Paris, France.

DANVERS, MA - An anonymous person donated a police K9 vest to French National Police RAID Team police dog in honor of the Danvers Police Department.

A French police dog, named Diesel, was killed five days after the November 13, 2015, terrorist attacks in Paris, France. Diesel was killed in a police take-down on a terrorist hideout just outside of Paris. K-9 Diesel was a 7-year-old Belgian Malinois.

The anonymous donor wished to honor the Danvers Police Department, according to Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog, and a presentation to recognize the donation will be made at 11 Wednesday morning, Jan. 13, at police headquarters, 120 Ash St.

According to Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog officials, the anonymous donor said, “Everybody can make a difference even if it’s one small step at a time.”

On Tuesday in France, Alicia Villechien, Commercial Representative for EMD, a French military supplies provider, presented this vest to the French National Police’s RAID unit, according to Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog,

Danvers Police Department’s K-9 program has received three K-9 ballistic vests from Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog, including a K-9 Storm vest for K-9 Stryka, given in memory of US ARMY Private First Class Bryan Lounsbury. Stryka will wear the vest on Wednesday. Additionally, Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog donations provided an outdoor kennel for our K9s and a K9 First Aid Kit.

Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog, is a 15-year-old independent, all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 organization, supporting Massachusetts police dogs.
