Guest Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Danvers Hotel Worker

Prosecutors say Bruce Santos, 47, of Somerset, targeted the employee while staying at the hotel in October.

DANVERS, MA — A man who stayed at the Danvers Best Western in October is accused of sexually assaulting an employee.

Bruce Santos, 47, of Somerset, pleaded not guilty to indecent assault and battery in Salem District Court Tuesday. Prosecutors say while staying at the hotel on Oct. 7 he called the front desk asking to borrow a hair dryer. When the worker arrived at the room, Santos answered the door naked and made lewd comments.

Three days layer later, according to court documents, Santos walked up behind the woman as she emptied trash and rubbed a lottery ticket on her buttocks. When questioned by police, Santos said he only "tapped" the woman and that he believed she was interested in going on a date with him.
