Baron Mayer Nominations

The Danvers Family Festival is seeking nominations for the 2012 Baron Mayer Award to be presented at the Baron Mayer Champagne Reception on June 15, 2012. Named after civic leader and former Selectman Baron Mayer, the primary criterion for this award is exemplary volunteer contribution to the community of Danvers. The is March 30.

License Your Dog
Bring your dog's rabies papers and $20 to the by April first to license your dog for the upcoming year.
If you have already licensed your dog in Danvers in the past, you will be receiving a letter or email with your dog's code. You will then be able to go onto the town of Danvers' website and register there.

Garden Club Scholarship Opportunity
The applicant must be a Danvers resident and post-secondary plans must be in one of the following areas: floral design, landscape design, floriculture, horticulture, arboriculture, environmental science, forestry, earth science (geography, geology, or meteorology), or in a closely related field. Application is available in Guidance Office, and will require official transcript, essay, activity sheet including extracurricular/community/and service activities, and two letters of recommendation (one of which is from guidance counselor).

Council on Aging Scholarship Opportunity
The announce the continuation of the high school scholarships to be awarded to a resident of Danvers who will be graduating from High School in 2012. There will be two $1,000 scholarships and one $500 scholarship awarded, based on a 250 word essay detailing the students volunteer work activity, or other experience with a senior citizen who has made a difference in the student’s life. Join A CSA
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares are still available at both Connors Farm and Each Peach Cafe. Both spots programs start in the beginning of June and last throughout the summer, but sign-ups are first come first serve, so register soon to guarentee a spot.
