Animals trapped in homes, lots of mailbox problems, and more from the North Shore police logs.

  • Police responded to a report of two dogs chasing a mailman on Aborn Street on Saturday around 10:30 a.m. Officers spoke to the owner.
  • Someone called police to report being woken up by a noise and seeing a black and white animal in a Foxwood Circle home on Tuesday around 2 a.m. An officer was able to get the skunk out of the house.

BEVERLY

  • Police responded to a report of a mailbox that was put through the rear window of a vehicle on Cabot Street last Thursday around 6:30 a.m.
  • Someone reported teenagers who tipped a basketball net onto a car on Andover Road last Thursday around 11:30 a.m.
  • Officers responded to a report of kids riding dirt bikes in the street at Radcliff Road last Thursday around 8:30 p.m. Police found that it was all adults, riding in the yard.
  • Police responded to a report of a man sitting in a kiddie pool that wasn't his on Sohier Road on Saturday around 5 p.m.

SALEM

  • Police responded to a report of a bird stuck in a Federal Street home on Sunday around 10:30 a.m. An officer found the bird "dancing on top of a ledge," and was able to grab the bird and set it free.
  • Police responded to a report of youths on a New Liberty Street roof throwing rocks onto the street below last Sunday around 5 p.m., but didn't find any youths.

MARBLEHEAD

  • A jogger was reportedly hit in the leg by an egg throw from a car in the area of Ocean Avenue on Tuesday around 1 p.m. The jogger got a photo of the license plate, and police tracked down the owner, who said their teenager was driving it.
  • Police responded to a report of someone trying to steal a dog on Green Street on Wednesday around 2 a.m.
  • Someone reported loud music in the area of Stacey Street on Wednesday around 9:30 p.m. The caller said "it wasn't the crime of the century," but didn't want to listen to Skynyrd before bed.
